Coffee is the 2nd largest commodity in the world. Along the coastline on the eastern side of South America, lies Brazil, the 5th largest country in the world by both land area and population. Most people know that Brazil produces a 3rd of the populations “bean jewels”, but what few know is that Brazil is not only the first exporter of coffee worldwide, but it’s also one of the drink’s largest consumers.
The coffee industries are spread along 13 Brazilian states, but the largest ones are located in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Bahia, Paraná and Goiás (listed here in order of importance). It is estimated that there are around 300 thousand coffee plantations in the country, spread in 1950 cities.
Influenced by the growing demand for special coffees, producers have invested in the production of a more elaborated variety, especially in the South of Brazil, where the weather is milder.
We were lucky enough to meet with one of these Brazilian producers who is NOW sharing his 100% Brazilian instant coffee with us. We named it Trovato.
So why is it then that this Brazilian coffee stands out among all other instant coffees?
Between the various harvesting methods, low acidity, dry processing method, and 3 rich growing areas, it is no wonder that this Brazilian instant coffee is tasting so unique. This instant coffee has less chicory than most of our well known instant coffees and has a more developed taste of Arabica and Robusta which means it is has a refined flavour with more complexity.
