2011: We've saved a Rhino!
Frontier Coffee has purchased a Rhino calf! Well a part of a rhino at least. Mike the rhino was purchased by Netcare (one of our clients) by a percentage of their expenses from their suppliers like us. Mike is now a resident at Legend Golf and Safari Resort where he has the chance to play his part in growing the ever shrinking rhino population with his new found partner Nana. We are very proud to partner with Netcare in this fantastic initiative and look forward to adding more value to our clients, country and our planet. 2010: Frontier in the press....
A number of articles about Frontier Coffee have appeared in the press or on other respected websites. Take a look at those appearing in:
2010: Frontier increases range by adding best value for money coffee machine in South Africa

Frontier has finally found what the South African coffee lover has been demanding....a feature packed small automatic coffee machine at a price that is affordable! The Barista Caffe is a fully automatic bean-to-cup coffee machine with the ability to make geat espresso and also cappuccino and latte with its auto milk frother. "We have received a number of calls from customers to say how much they are enjoying their machines" says Dean Dollenberg, from Frontier's sales and marketing team. He added "as we all know, we are 10-20 times more likely to complain than to send a compliment, so these machines are really making an impact!"
As with the Bianchi coffee vending machine range, Frontier have also negotiated an exclusive distribution arrangement with the supplier to protect the SA coffee lover from buying machines from "here today/gone tomorrow" distributors. The number of people buying machines from such distributors is increasing and because they are effectively unsupported with worthless warranties, we end up having to service them. "We'd prefer to be fully responsible for maintaining the reputation of this great coffee machine by having exclusive distribution in South Africa!" says Dean.

2010: Frontier growth exceeds all expectations
Final audited results for the last financial year show tremendous year on year growth for the company. "The commitment to customers in the provision of high quality machines and real service has underpinned these results" says Christo van Rensburg, Frontier's General Manager. "Frontier continues to add new coffee machines and service offerings to its range and this has seen a dramatic increase in both corporate office service contracts and small office and domestic customers" he adds.
Frontier are also seeing the benefit of having our staff trained by the coffee machine manufacturer in both sales and technical areas. "Knowing the machines allows us to really customise the offerings to our clients and prospective clients. They then get what they need, and they also then have peace of mind that they are in goods hands with a reputable supplier backed by internationally recognised brands" he adds.
As to the future, Frontier will be introducing additional coffee machines "packed with the latest coffee making technology" and a number of new service offerings. In addition Christo adds "we'll soon be distributing to areas in South Africa we haven't been able to reach, like the Garden Route, Polokwane, Nelspruit/Kruger, Kimberley, East London etc, and that means more South Africans can enjoy great coffee with great service!"
2009: Frontier achieves Level 2 BBBEE rating!
Frontier is proud to have achieved a Level 2 Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment rating. "What started out as the need to meet a minimum target, turned into a very valuable exercise in selecting suppliers and training our staff. The latter will continue to make an impact given the service orientation of our company" said Mr Christo van Rensburg, the General Manager.
"Our clients can now claim over 156% of their purchases against our rating, and that means great procurement benefits for their own ratings" he noted.
Christo also stated that Frontier will continue to invest in staff development in line with client expectations and to supplying the best service in the industry.

2009: Frontier reaches 500th client

From humble beginnings, having started the business in the garage of a house, Frontier has now reached its 500th coffee vending machine client. This milestone comes on the back of being awarded distribution rights for Bianchi coffee vending machines in South Africa, after a period of close inspection by this world renown company. The combination of machines, service and products has resulted in increased customer satisfaction survey scores and bodes well for the future of the company.
Now established in Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and Gauteng, the company has a national footprint for rolling out coffee machine sales and rentals. The strategic alliance with Java Lava Beverage Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd continues to deliver value as clients can now have their own branded packaging for their consumables. More than that, they can choose the precise taste profile of their coffee and can have it roasted to that standard.
2008: Frontier forms strategic alliance with consumable manufacturer Java Lava

Java Lava Beverage Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd is a manufacturer of high quality coffee and hot chocolate and an importer of fine tea and instant coffee. Roasting and blending its own coffee allows Java Lava to provide its customers with superior quality coffee beans and ground filter coffee - at more affordable prices! Java Lava provides corporates with all their hot beverage consumables and combining great products with Frontier's excellence in service is a winning combination and will allow both companies to continue expanding in their respective markets.
2007: Frontier celebrates five years of growth
It's official! Frontier is celebrating five years of year-on-year growth this year. Started with only six machines, the business has become established as a leading supplier of 100's of coffee machines in South Africa. The reason for our success is very simple - we live customer service (yes really!). It is why we have the client base we have and a draw full of letters praising our commitment to making the purchase or rental of a coffee machine, simple, fast and hassle free.
Our customers now recognise that a small, well run company can provide better pricing and service than larger brands, and besides, since these machines are our only source of income, we make sure we carry stock and can repair any faults within a day or two. We are especially thankful to all our clients, both big and small - we know the next five years will result in even better performance!
2007: Frontier moves into larger premises
We have moved! Our growth necessitated that we increase our floor space - any idea how many machines fit into a container(!)...and we pride ourselves on always having machines in stock. In addition, we had to expand our technical staff and facilities as we are increasingly repairing machines for other machine suppliers. This bodes well for all our clients who will further benefit from faster turnaround times and increased stock levels.
2006: Netcare saves, saves, saves...

Whether you are a JSE listed company or not...saving money is important. Frontier has helped Netcare to cut
hot beverage costs by 50%! Better yet, the beverages are made from higher quality ingredients and are always
fresh and hot.
Even the doctors can come out of surgery and get a cappuccino made from fresh ground coffee beans. If we can do
that for Netcare, what can we do for you?
2004: The right taste

Many of our coffee drinkers are former "instant coffee" drinkers who have been exposed to filter coffee through the office coffee service that we provide in their offices. As they move over to the stronger and richer flavours found in filter coffee, we often hear that they find the coffee "too strong".
Well that's no problem. We simply went back to our roast master and asked him to develop a blend that was lighter to the taste, and yet a roast that still captured our unique flavour. Nothing pleased him more than to get into the roastery and tinker away at this blend.
We are pleased to announce that his blend has received rave reviews not only from the new converts, but also from seasoned coffee drinkers. Enjoy our light roast!
